Works with your scan tool

Keep your scan tool. Add the brain.

AceDx is software. It reads the data your professional tool already pulls, so there is no dongle to buy, no adapter to lose, and nothing new to learn in the bay.

The vehicle
Codes, freeze frame, live parameters. All standard OBD-II.
Your scan tool
The professional tool already on your cart. Unchanged.
AceDxadded
Reads that data and commits to one call with its evidence. Software only.
A tablet in the bay
Where the verdict shows up. No hardware to buy, lose, or charge.
No new hardware

The connector was never the missing piece.

Shops don’t have a data-access problem. They have a “what does this data mean, right now, on this car” problem.

What it needs

Standard data, standard PIDs.

Everything AceDx reasons over is data any OBD-II compliant tool produces. That’s deliberate. It’s what keeps the tool from being locked to one vendor.

Codes
Stored, pending, and permanent DTCs. Every OBD-II compliant tool built in the last twenty years reads these.
Freeze frame
The snapshot the ECM stores when a fault sets. Standard data, standard PIDs.
Live parameters
The PIDs relevant to the fault: fuel trims, misfire counters, sensor values. Whatever your tool can graph, AceDx can read.
The vehicle
Year, make, model, engine. Off the VIN, or typed in.
Nothing exotic
No proprietary protocol and no vendor-locked data. Everything AceDx reasons over is standard OBD-II, which is why it isn’t tied to one tool brand.
Compatibility

Which tools we’ve run it against.

We list a tool here once we’ve actually put a vehicle through AceDx on it, not because the spec sheet says it should work.

We’re building this list on the bay floor.

AceDx is pre-pilot. We could fill this page with every scan tool that supports standard OBD-II and be technically correct, but a shop owner reading a compatibility table wants to know it was actually tried, so this table stays empty until it has been.

The pilot is how it gets filled. Tell us what’s on your cart and we’ll confirm your exact tool, on your vehicles, and put it here with your shop’s name on it if you want the credit.

The other approach

Why we didn’t build a dongle.

The rest of this category sells you hardware first. It makes for a tidier box and a worse tool.

Buy-the-dongleAceDx
What you buyHardware plus a subscription, bundled. You pay for the dongle whether you need it or not.Software. Your existing scan tool stays exactly where it is.
What the shop learnsA second tool, a second workflow, a second thing to train a new tech on.The tool your techs already know, with a verdict on the tablet.
Data depthWhatever a generic adapter can pull.Whatever your professional tool can pull, which is more.
When you upgrade toolsThe dongle you paid for is now the weakest link in the bay.AceDx reads the better data the day you plug the new tool in.
Fair questions

What shop owners ask us first.

What if my tool isn’t listed?

Tell us what it is. If it reads codes, freeze frame, and live data, and a professional tool does, the odds are good. We’d rather confirm it on your vehicle than promise it on a spec sheet.

Does AceDx clear codes?

Yes. Clearing is part of closing the loop. The tool clears the fault it called, then reads the vehicle again to find out whether the repair actually held. A verdict that never gets retested is just an opinion.

Actuator tests and the rest of your bidirectional work stay on your scan tool, where your techs already do them.

Does it work on EVs, hybrids, and diesels?

The reasoning isn’t gas-engine-specific, but we’re not going to claim coverage we haven’t demonstrated. If that’s most of your work, say so when you get in touch. Those are exactly the pilot shops we want.

Where does our vehicle data go?

To us, and that is not a footnote. Using AceDx means agreeing up front that the diagnostic data it reads becomes ours to learn from. It is not an opt-in box and there is no version of the service without it.

Here is the trade, stated plainly: every repair order that runs through the tool goes back into the engine that makes the next call. That is the mechanism by which a diagnostic tool gets sharper on your platforms instead of staying frozen at whatever it knew the day it shipped. You get the benefit of every other shop’s hard-won verdict, and they get yours.

You will see the full terms in writing before a single RO goes through the pilot. We would rather you read this here and decide it is not for you than find it in a terms link later.

Tell us what’s on your cart.

Autel, Snap-on, Launch, Bosch, something older that still reads everything you need. We want to confirm AceDx against the tool your techs actually reach for.
